Boutique style bedroom facilities in a rural pub atmosphere. Very relaxed and unpretentious, but professional.Great value for money. Good dinner in stunning diming room with well! Mains were varied but small selection. Large portions of side vegetables we could not do justice to! would definitely recommend
Excellent. A very homely place to stay. We were there to attend a wedding at the local church then onto Dove Barn in Groton. (About 15 mins drive be sure to book a taxi!!!) Arrived on the Friday to meet family. A fantastic evening meal with good wine, a lovely breakfast, all for a very good price. The staff very friendly and bedroom nice and comfortable. Would definately return to stay again, if in that part of the world again. Brilliant.
Room was very large, very clean and finished to a high spec
The location was excellent and parking no problem. Well-placed to explore Constable country and for local walks.
I would have liked a better vegetarian choice of food. What was available was good.
The old world atmosphere of a 15th century coaching inn with a wealth of exposed beams, friendly staff and an excellent dinner menu choice.
Location, decor of rooms and public spaces, atmosphere, excellent beds, nice bathrooms, good breakfast choices, pleasant and efficient staff, good food in restaurant, easy parking, value for money.
Only one comfortable chair in an otherwise beautiful room.
Thoroughly enjoyable. The rooms were very comfortable and the food and staff were excellent.
Lovely room; great staff; lovely breakfasts and an excellent base to go exploring from! Great location, too.
Astonishingly, given its location, it was quite noisy in the morning (traffic).
An attractive inn where the period charm has been well maintained. The bedroom was pleasant and atmospheric. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent and dinner was high quality and not standard pub grub.
A very relaxed warming atmosphere. The staff are very friendly and exceptionally helpful. The accomodation and surroundings are beautiful and the food is delicious. WIll definately stay again and will reccomend to all my friends and colleagues.
This was a beautiful little inn in a quite and peaceful area of the English Countryside - "Constable Country". A great place to do many walks, some of which take you on the same trails taken by famous landscape artist John Constable. The staff at the Angel Inn were very polite, friendly and helpful. The rooms were cosy, comfortable and characterful and each is different. The local ale was very good and there was a nice outdoor sitting area.
Very friendly Staff, lovely breakfast, nice location, large drinks garden.
The rooms were quite tired, ac didnt work, no bath, quite noisy due to old property/no dbl glazing.
Excellent little pub/boutique hotel, the staff couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. The rooms are decorated and furnished to a very high standard and the pub/restaurant are of the same standard. We didn't eat at the restaurant because of prior arrangements but the restaurant quality menu had my mouth watering and the prices were very reasonable. Overall we had an excellent experience and would highly recommend the Angel Inn.
The showers in the room were the only disappointment - it was nearly impossible to get the right temperature without either scalding or freezing yourself!
Quiet village location in a position that is convenient to get to places of interest in Suffolk and Essex, the coast and countryside. The hotel is very comfortable and the staff friendly and efficient, the food is very good.
The staff were very very helpful, keen and welcoming. The Inn was clean, very well renovated and a beautiful old building. Very rich in charm. The food was spectacular. We would recommend the hotel to anyone and would certainly return again and again.
Our room overlooked the courtyard which was somewhat noisy until pub closing - however, the room was stunning and we could have asked to move rooms but chose not to. Other rooms faced a different aspect and would have been much quieter. I am very confident that, had we requested to move rooms, our request would have happily been granted by the staff.
